"ADRP has been a wonderful networking resource that has allowed me to better connect to those people doing the exact same things that I'm doing. There's no competition so everyone is very open to sharing best practices."

— Jennifer Steffus, Director of Donor Relations, Children’s Memorial Hospital, Chicago

Dear Stewardship Listserv Subscribers:

Those of you who have been long-time subscribers may recall that the listserv has been hosted by generous volunteers and their institutions since its inception. Several years ago, due to its overwhelming growth, managing the listserv became more work than any one volunteer could reasonably manage while holding down a full-time job. When it appeared that the listserv would disappear because of the time demands required to manage it, the Board of Directors of the Association of Donor Relations Professionals (ADRP) stepped in to save the listserv from extinction. Since that time, the listserv has been hosted on the ADRP website as a free service to ADRP members and non-members alike.

The board is pleased to announce an important change that will upgrade the functionality and flexibility of the listserv and will allow it to continue to serve as a valuable resource for donor relations professionals well into the future. The stewardship listserv soon will be hosted by the CharityChannel ( http://Charitychannel.com/forums/ ). Subscribers will be re-directed from the ADRP website to the CharityChannel website when the transition occurs.

CharityChannel hosts over 200 public and private email-based discussion lists, all dedicated to some aspect relevant to nonprofit professionals, including Development professionals. CharityChannel, which began as a discussion community more than 14 years ago, has very strict rules for participating in a forum, some of which will address concerns raised by stewardship listserv subscribers during the past year.

In addition to archival and searchable features, CharityChannel's public forums offer professional moderator services. These capabilities will improve access to the wealth of information that permeates the Stewardship listserv, all at a nominal charge to participants.

As a result of ongoing technology changes on the ADRP website, the Association is no longer able to host the stewardship listserv. However, because the ADRP Board believes strongly in the value of shared information--and wants the stewardship listserv to continue to serve as a resource for donor relations professionals worldwide--we feel that it is in the best interest of all our constituents to partner with the CharityChannel. We hope that you agree and that you will continue to utilize the listserv in the future.
